This course is a comprehensive preparation for a lifetime of sailing. It is designed for students who have no sailing experience, small boating experience or limited boat handling experience. With an emphasis on practical training and experience, you will learn all the essentials of sailing quickly and more thoroughly than you thought possible.
Your two hour classroom session on the first morning of your sailing class will be followed by 22 hours of hands on boat handling with three other students on a 29'-30' cruising sailboat. See Sailing's article, Here's Proof, describing our Sailing Charter Certification Course.
Your sailing instructor will demonstrate and you will immediately practice the techniques you just learned in sailing class. Read the Sample Sailing Lesson by one of our instructors.

SAMPLE SAILING CLASS PLAN: Most cruising students expect the bulk of their on-the-water practice will be spent sailing elegantly up and down the bay. But one secret of the sailing charter community, (we tell them conspiratorially), is that no one much worries how well you sail. The only penalty for mediocre sailing is arriving late to the next island. Being captain when the boat and its occupants are near the shore, especially when docking, is a very different matter.
